Alex and Paul are so fun and easy-going and we really enjoyed capturing their special day. They were surrounded by good friends and family, and it was a pleasure to be there to photograph the day’s events. Congratulations, guys! Thanks for sharing your day with us!
Joe and I had a great time shooting Monet & Will’s wedding in Albuquerque. They were so sweet and easy to work with, and had lots of fun events planned throughout the day - beginning with early morning coffee and his and hers bike rides, and moving to a beautiful ceremony and reception at El Pinto in the North Valley. Congratulations guys, and thanks for letting us capture your day!
Kristy and Tracy are, simply put, awesome. They were so fun and kind and easy to work with. From start to finish their day was filled with friends, family and good spirits. Thanks for the opportunity to get to know you both better and to capture your wedding!
Joe and I were so excited to shoot Jessica and Rey's lovely wedding at 150 Sunset in El Paso. The happy couple and their families and friends were so sweet and easy to work with. 150 Sunset was a beautiful location, hip and classic all at once, and it made a great place for their special wedding celebration. Thank you both and best wishes for a long, healthy life together!
I put together a design for a new photography Portfolio Exchange service that will be launching this fall. More info to come about this exciting project soon!
Andria and Aaron are one of the cutest couples I've ever met. They are so sweet and easy-going and totally head over heels for each other! We were grateful to be a part of their special day, and to have the opportunity to document everything leading up to their intimate ceremony with family and friends through their reception filled with lots of energy and killer dance moves! Congratulations! We wish you many years of health, happiness, and love.
Em is one of my oldest and closest friends, I love her dearly and am always so happy to spend time with her. I decided to drive across the country from New Mexico to Pennsylvania for Christmas, and made a point to stop in Charleston to hang with Em, her rad husband Adam (who shares my love for all things R&B), and their two beautiful, sweet, easy not-so-babies Phoebe and Hudson. Here's a couple of my favorite photos that I snuck in during the trip.
Dan and I are from the same town in Pennsylvania, but we didn't know each other until we both had moved to Las Cruces. Our moms met through mutual friends and quickly discovered that their kids had each run off to the same town in southern New Mexico! Dan and I haven't had a chance to hang out too much over the years, but it was super fun to reconnect with him, to meet his lovely bride Valerie, and to photograph their wedding with friends and family joining them from the Southwest and back East. They had their ceremony and reception at the beautiful setting of La Viña Winery in La Union, New Mexico. It was a perfect fall evening with lots of love and good vibes in the air. Congratulations and thanks for letting Joe and me be a part of your day!
I was so excited to meet Hudson, my friends Chase and Nick's sweet baby boy. Chase and I had originally planned to do a maternity shoot, but since Hudson decided to join the party a few weeks early, we postponed the shoot so he could be the star of the show. He was such an easy, pleasant baby, and it was awesome to get to hang with the new family and take some photos of my friends as new parents! Congrats guys!
Lori and I lived down the hall from each other our freshman year at Penn State and quickly became good friends. I remember at PSU she always talked about her "Cali Boy" and although they spent many years and miles apart, she and Eric reunited and were married in 2009 (at one of the most fun weddings ever, I might add...).
They've grown so much together over the years, and recently welcomed the beautiful, sweet Cordelia Rose to their family unit. It's so fun to see my buddies as parents and to be able to document this amazing part of their lives. Three cheers for this awesome crew. Love you guys!
Emily and Brian had a beautiful, traditional Catholic Mass at the historic Basilica of San Albino in Mesilla. They were surrounded by family and friends from across the country who joined them in celebrating their love and union. The reception took place at the Farm and Ranch Museum, with a spectacular view of the Organ Mountains. My lovely and talented friend Jenny Ploss from Extended Play Photography was with me, and we had a great time capturing the day's events and celebrating with the super fun guests. Congratulations guys! Looking forward to getting together the next time you are in Las Cruces!
Fraction Magazine is an awesome resource for the best emerging photography around the world. I was asked to redesign Fraction's logo and logotypes to prepare for the new platform, Fraction Media that recently launched. Fraction Media is the larger umbrella under which Fraction Magazine, and the Fraction Shop are found. I was happy to put together a new look for a photography resource that I believe in. Check them out and let us know if you have design projects that you need help with!
I recently completed a restoration project of negatives from a client's time in the late 1970s working in mineral mines in New Mexico. The negatives had their fair share of dust and scratches and needed some serious TLC but I'm happy to report that we were able to resurrect them. Here is my favorite from the series.
Fun fact – the client was working on this mine near Gallup, New Mexico when Richard Avedon came to photograph for his American West project. He showed me the iconic image of his friend that made it to Avedon's final edit.
My boyfriend and I had the pleasure of going to South Africa for the better part of June to visit our good friends Luke and Jess and their two adorable kids, Sonora and Ivan. We were welcomed into their rad beachfront apartment in Cape Town and had a truly incredible trip with the best tour guides. More about the trip at a later time, but for now I wanted to share some pictures of Nora and Ivan playing on the beach. They are so fun and full of energy, it was great to get a chance to photograph them!
Anikke and I had a great time photographing Julie and Sha's wedding a few weekends ago in Albuquerque. Julie and Sha are so fun and full of life, and they are brimming with love for each other. The ceremony and reception took place at Tanoan Country Club in Northeast Albuquerque, with a stunning view of the Sandia Mountains. It was truly a lovely day with lovely people, and we were so thrilled to be there to capture it. Congratulations you little lovebirds!
Andi and Aaron were interested in a sunrise engagement shoot, so we wiped the sleep out of our eyes and rolled out to the pecan orchards nice and early this past weekend. As soon as we got out of the car, they immediately started laughing, smiling, and hugging. They were so natural, and needed absolutely no direction or prompting – so thank you for making my job easy! They even started slow dancing at one point: you just can't fake those moments. They both exude sweetness and love and it was really fun to get to know each other better and get some fun shots. Thank you both, can't wait to shoot your wedding next year!
India and Nicole are easily two of my favorite people in Las Cruces. I met them years ago playing soccer and we became instant friends. They are super fun, genuine, amazing people and I always have a blast with them. I actually didn't think that I could be more fond of them, but the birth of their daughter Jovana proved me wrong. Seeing them as mothers makes me love them even more, and Jovi is maybe the sweetest little thing I've ever seen. She has officially turned the dynamic duo into a wolfpack, and during the shoot we realized that she is also secretly a baby model. She was pulling out all sorts of moves (hand on knee, finger in mouth, faraway gaze, and on and on). I'd like to thank Jovi for keeping the shoot classy and professional before it digressed into burritos and beers :)
Emily and I quickly connected when we realized that we had a Trading Places thing going on. She's originally from Las Cruces, and I'm originally from Pennsylvania, close to the Baltimore/DC area. She and her fiancé Brian are living, working, and schooling in DC and were back in NM for a quick weekend trip. We set aside time for an outdoor engagement session at the base of Organ Mountains. True to the extreme nature of the desert, a storm quickly blew in right as we were getting started. Emily and Brian were super cool and rolled with it, despite getting rained on and blasted in the face with dirt. They even ventured up this hill when I had the terrible idea to get a vista shot in 30 mph winds (worth it!). We were fortunate to get some of that idyllic southwest light that accompanies such a storm, and came away with some fun photos. Thanks, you guys are rad, looking forward to shooting your wedding this fall!
I had an amazing weekend in Taos photographing the beautiful wedding of Amy and Randy with my lovely friend Jenny from Extended Play Photography. The unique and intimate ceremony took place at the Harwood Museum of Art in downtown Taos, followed by a reception at the incredible roundbarn at Ojo Caliente. Amy and Randy are so genuine and down to earth, and they were surrounded by loved ones who ventured from all over the country to celebrate their wedding. Everyone made Jenny and I feel so welcome and we had a blast capturing the special weekend! Many thanks and warm congratulations to the bride and groom!
